Responsible Management and the WFSRI in the Age of AI

 

 

 

기업·공공기관 및 기타 조직을 둘러싼 환경은 인공지능(AI)과 디지털 전환, 기후·환경 변화, 글로벌 공급망의 재편, 사이버 위험, 인권과 윤리, 공공가치와 사회적 가치에 대한 요구 확대와 함께 빠르게 변화하고 있다.

 

The environment surrounding corporations, public institutions, and other organizations is rapidly changing amid Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital transformation, climate and environmental change, the restructuring of global supply chains, cyber risks, growing expectations concerning human rights and ethics, and increasing demands for public value and social value.

 

이러한 변화에 따라 조직을 바라보는 관점도 현재의 재무성과를 넘어 지속가능성, 책임경영, 혁신역량, 비재무 리스크 관리, 장기 가치창출, 공공가치와 사회적 가치 및 미래 경쟁력 등을 함께 고려하는 방향으로 확대되고 있다.

 

Accordingly, the perspective on organizations is expanding beyond current financial performance to encompass sustainability, Responsible Management, innovation capability, non-financial risk management, long-term value creation, public value, social value, and future competitiveness.

 

WF책임경영지수(WF Sustainable Responsibility Index, WFSRI)는 세계청년리더총연맹(WORLD FEDERATION OF POWER LEADERS, WFPL)이 장기간의 연구개발을 통해 확립한 책임경영 평가 연구성과이다.

 

The WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI) is the outcome of long-term research and development by the WORLD FEDERATION OF POWER LEADERS (WFPL) in the field of Responsible Management evaluation.

 

WFSRI는 ESG를 대체하기 위하여 개발된 지수가 아니다. ESG의 기본적인 가치와 문제의식을 존중하면서, AI 시대와 그 이후의 변화하는 기업환경과 공공환경에서 요구되는 책임경영을 보다 종합적이고 미래지향적인 관점에서 살펴보고 평가하고자 한다.

 

The WFSRI was not developed to replace ESG. While respecting the fundamental values and concerns underlying ESG, it seeks to examine and evaluate Responsible Management required in changing corporate and public-sector environments in the age of AI and beyond from a more comprehensive and future-oriented perspective.

 

 

WFSRI의 평가철학

Evaluation Philosophy of the WFSRI

 

 

WFSRI의 최상위 평가철학은 「영향에 상응하는 책임(Responsibility Corresponding to Impact)」이다.

 

The highest-order Evaluation Philosophy of the WFSRI is “Responsibility Corresponding to Impact.”

 

“조직의 영향력이 확대될수록 그 영향에 상응하는 책임도 확대되어야 한다.”

 

“As the influence of an organization expands, responsibility corresponding to that influence should also expand.”

 

이러한 평가철학은 조직의 책임을 현재의 성과나 조직 내부에 한정하지 않고, 조직의 의사결정과 활동이 환경과 사회, 다양한 이해관계자와 공동체, 현재세대와 미래세대에 미치는 영향과 그에 따른 책임을 함께 살펴보는 관점이다.

 

This Evaluation Philosophy extends organizational responsibility beyond current performance or the organization itself by considering the impacts of organizational decisions and activities on the environment and society, diverse stakeholders and communities, and present and future generations, together with the responsibilities arising from those impacts.

 

이를 바탕으로 WFSRI는 영향과 책임, 이해관계자 책임, 세대 간 책임, 공공·공동체 책임, 미래사회와 미래세대에 대한 책임이라는 5대 이론적 토대를 책임경영 평가의 기반으로 삼는다.

 

On this basis, the WFSRI is grounded in five theoretical foundations of Responsible Management evaluation: Impact and Responsibility, Stakeholder Responsibility, Intergenerational Responsibility, Public and Community Responsibility, and Responsibility for Future Society and Future Generations.

 

 

 

SEC 평가체계와 WFSRI

SEC Evaluation Framework and the WFSRI

 

 

SEC(Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission)는 세계청년리더총연맹(WFPL)이 확립한 WFSRI 연구성과를 토대로 기업·공공기관 및 기타 조직의 책임경영을 객관적이고 체계적으로 평가하기 위한 SEC 평가방법론(SEC Evaluation Methodology)과 SEC 평가체계(SEC Evaluation Framework)를 수립·운영하고 지속적으로 고도화한다.

 

SEC (Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission) builds on the WFSRI research outcomes established by the WORLD FEDERATION OF POWER LEADERS (WFPL) to establish, operate, and continuously advance the SEC Evaluation Methodology and SEC Evaluation Framework for the objective and systematic evaluation of the Responsible Management of corporations, public institutions, and other organizations.

 

SEC 평가체계는 책임경영에 관한 평가철학과 평가방법론을 실제 평가에 구현하기 위하여 평가부문, 하위평가항목 및 세부평가지표를 체계적으로 연결한다.

 

The SEC Evaluation Framework systematically connects Evaluation Domains, Evaluation Pillars, and Detailed Evaluation Indicators to translate the Evaluation Philosophy and Evaluation Methodology of Responsible Management into practical evaluation.

50개 SEC 핵심가치지표(Core Value Indicators, CVIs)는 별도의 추가 지표가 아니라, 책임경영의 핵심가치와 주요 평가요소가 평가결과에 실질적으로 반영될 수 있도록 159개 세부평가지표 가운데 선정된 핵심지표이다.

 

The 50 SEC Core Value Indicators (CVIs) are not additional indicators separate from the 159 Detailed Evaluation Indicators; rather, they are selected from among the 159 indicators to ensure that the core values and principal elements of Responsible Management are meaningfully reflected in the evaluation results.

 

WF책임경영지수(WF Sustainable Responsibility Index, WFSRI)는 SEC 평가방법론과 SEC 평가체계를 기반으로 기업·공공기관 및 기타 조직의 책임경영에 관한 평가결과를 종합적으로 반영하여 산출하는 SEC의 종합평가지수(Comprehensive Evaluation Index)이다.

 

The WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI) is SEC’s Comprehensive Evaluation Index, derived by comprehensively reflecting evaluation results on the Responsible Management of corporations, public institutions, and other organizations based on the SEC Evaluation Methodology and SEC Evaluation Framework.

 

SEC 평가체계가 책임경영을 평가하기 위한 구조라면, WFSRI는 그 평가체계를 통해 도출된 평가결과를 종합적으로 반영하여 산출하는 종합평가지수이다.

While the SEC Evaluation Framework provides the structure for evaluating Responsible Management, the WFSRI is the Comprehensive Evaluation Index derived by comprehensively reflecting the evaluation results generated through that framework.

 

 

평가결과의 활용

Application of Evaluation Results

 

SEC 평가체계를 통해 도출된 책임경영 평가결과는 WFSRI에 종합적으로 반영되며, 이를 토대로 SEC WFSRI Rating과 SEC WFSRI Certification 등 관련 평가결과 체계와 인증제도로 연결된다.

 

Responsible Management evaluation results generated through the SEC Evaluation Framework are comprehensively reflected in the WFSRI and are connected to related evaluation result and certification systems, including the SEC WFSRI Rating and SEC WFSRI Certification.

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 WFSRI와 관련 평가결과를 바탕으로 조직의 책임경영 수준을 등급으로 나타내는 평가결과 체계이다.

 

The SEC WFSRI Rating is an evaluation result system that expresses an organization’s level of Responsible Management through a Rating based on the WFSRI and related evaluation results.

 

SEC WFSRI Certification은 WFSRI와 관련 평가결과를 기초로 별도의 인증기준과 절차에 따라 인증요건 충족 여부를 심사·결정하는 인증제도이다.

 

The SEC WFSRI Certification is a certification system that separately reviews and determines whether certification requirements are satisfied on the basis of the WFSRI and related evaluation results under applicable certification criteria and procedures.

 

따라서 WFSRI가 산출되거나 특정 SEC WFSRI Rating이 부여되었다는 사실만으로 SEC WFSRI Certification이 자동적으로 부여되는 것은 아니다. 평가등급과 인증의 구체적인 의미와 적용은 본 백서의 해당 장에서 각각 설명한다.

 

Accordingly, SEC WFSRI Certification is not automatically granted solely because a WFSRI has been derived or a particular SEC WFSRI Rating has been assigned. The specific meaning and application of Rating and Certification are addressed separately in the relevant chapters of this White Paper.

 

궁극적으로 WFSRI와 SEC 평가체계는 기업·공공기관 및 기타 조직의 현재 책임경영 수준뿐만 아니라 지속가능성과 미래 변화에 대한 대응역량을 체계적으로 살펴보고, 다양한 이해관계자가 활용할 수 있는 신뢰할 수 있는 평가정보를 제공하는 것을 지향한다.

 

Ultimately, the WFSRI and SEC Evaluation Framework seek to systematically assess not only the current level of Responsible Management of corporations, public institutions, and other organizations, but also their sustainability and capabilities for responding to future change, while providing reliable evaluation information that can be utilized by diverse stakeholders.
